Happy Skin: Pond's White Beauty Daily Spotless Lightening Day Cream

I usually don't go shopping for moisturizers for my face ... Never ! I have oily skin as it is and Hence I refrain applying anything on my face except for sunscreen and compact. So when I was offered to test out Pond's Newest product from their whitening skincare line - I was not sure whether this will work for me or not.

I have never been into the "whitening" and "brightening" mumbo-jumbo. I started using this cream anyway and its been 4 weeks now since I am using it -- 

Here's my account on the product -

Product: Pond's Flawless White Visible Lightening Day Cream. 

Claims:

Pond’s Flawless White Visible Lightening Day Cream “visibly whiten skin, giving it a natural, flawlessly radiant look; VAO-B³ complex fade away dark spots and blemishes; moisturizes, for soft and smooth skin; protect against the sun’s UVA/UVB rays”.

First Look at the Product: 

This product comes in a luxurious glass tub packaging with a pink screw cap top. Apart from the "Pretty" packaging - The heavy tub is not at all travel friendly. The product is bulky and you always have to take care that you don't end up breaking the glass tub while handling. 

My Experience with the Product: 

The first thing I noticed when I applied this cream was that this cream smelled and reminded me of a cream which was available a long time ago  (dunno whether its still available or not) - The Afghan Snow Cream. My mom was crazy for that thing .... this cream instantly brought back the memories of sweet smell of that cream.

I love the texture of the cream - it has a mousse- like consistency and it Literally takes seconds for this cream to get absorbed into my skin. You need only minute quantity of the product for your entire face. The cream somehow adapts to your skin and brings out the best results.

The product has a wonderful smell and makes you feel like your using a spa product. 

I love the effect the cream has on my face - It instantly give my skin - Clean, Radiant and  Matte Look. The application of cream followed by compact is very successful in maintaining oil free look for hours. It also makes the pores on the skin appear smaller.

As for whitening effect - I am sad to say - I haven't noticed any difference in my dark spots or lightening in my skin tone. The cream gives you radiant look the moment you apply it but then its back to normal after sometime. 

I like the fact that this cream is successful in giving you that BARE FEELING - As if your not wearing anything on your face.

The cream also gets bonus points for not giving me any break- outs or allergy reactions. 

I have tried this cream as a base for my makeup. My protocol starts by applying the cream, followed by hiding the blemishes with the help of a concealer, followed by applying mineral foundation and lastly loose powder. The makeup surprisingly stays put for hours. 

All in all, I am quite happy with the results the product is delivering.

Another BB Cream in the market !! : Vedic Line Plus BB Cream

When MNY BB Cream stormed our blogosphere - It was an instant HIT !! Now that Indian Company - Vedic Line launched their new range of products - Vedic Line Plus which includes BB Cream as one of its products - I HAD TO TEST IT OUT !!!!

Product: Vedic Line Plus BB Cream.

Claims:

This blemish balm cream serves as a foundation for application of make up and protects the skin from UV rays for upto 12 hours. Does not come off easily by sweat or sebum and leaves the skin spotless and wrinkle free.

Usage: 

  

Use it daily, directly or after absorption of Moisturizer, Serum or Essence. For imperfect areas apply extra layer of BB cream.

First Look At the Product: 

The BB Cream comes in a tube packaging - Fuschia color tube with a screw cap - I wish a flip cap opening would have been much easier to deal with . Other than that It’s a travel friendly tube. The consistency of the cream is neither too thick nor too thin with somewhat floral aroma. 

My Experience with the Product: 

The first time I applied the cream - I took too much and it made me look tanned !! The cream has pink undertones which makes my skin look weird if I apply too much of it. 

The texture of the cream is just right - It makes it very easy for application on the face. The next time I applied the BB Cream - I was extra careful and took a teeny pea sized amount of the product and dabbed it onto my entire face. 

The result was a radiant dewy look. I have combination skin type and it manages to stay on my skin for 2-3 hours easily after which it makes my T-Zone look oily.

Right now, This BB Cream comes in one shade only - but its fine as the shade is mostly perfect for Indian skin tones. 

I guess people with oily skinned wont like this BB Cream too much - It will work best for people with dry to combination skin types. 

It does not help in concealing your imperfections at all. It doesnt help in lightening or concealing my dark circles as well. 

This cream does not help much in summers for oily skinned. My T-Zone is very troublesome !! I tried touching it up with matte powder - didnt help ! 

Otherwise, This BB Cream is perfect for people who are blessed with dry skin with less imperfections... Do try it !!!

Rosy Skin With Vedic Line Papaya Scrub

My beautician has always lectured me on using papaya on daily basis - I have oily skin which is acne prone and she swears by benefits of the fruit. I had only tried it twice and thrice - Didn't have the patience to stick to the routine.

Anyways, So when I got a chance to test drive this product - I gladly used it on daily basis to see how it worked...

First Look at the Product:

 The scrub comes in a tub-like packaging which is good as the scrub is quite thicker in the consistency. The screw cap lid opens up to reveal another lid inside which helps in preventing the spillage of product.

My Experience with the Product:

The scrub is muddy because it has clay in it - A bit thick in consistency - Not a problem because it works well onto the skin. 

The fragrance is quite nice - not at all bothersome. 

The walnut granules in the scrub are bit harsh - So please do not go overboard with this scrub. 

I use it scrub every two days and I quite like the effect it has on my skin. 

The scrub exfoliates very well and is successful in removing tan too. 

Sometimes I apply this scrub and take a steam to open up my pores - This is followed by scrubbing for about a minute or two and then wash it off with plenty of water. 

This routine works wonders - It makes my skin clean, soft and radiant.

Definitely LOVE IT !! I will recommend this scrub to everyone who are bored of using routine apricot scrubs.

First Look at the Product: 

This mask is a sheet mask - the sheet is nice and thick unlike thinner paper-like ones you get (My friend uses one of those). The moist mask is soaked in essence and serum LITERALLY !!  The individually packed sheet masks are so travel - friendly.

My Experience: 

The mask is perfect for this season - The serum is some kind of brightening one - It helped me to remove tan from my face.

I loved the effect the mask left on my face - I did notice a nice, glow,faint translucent look - Just after the first use !! 

The soaked sheet is so hydrating - It intensely nourishes your dull and tired skin. 

There's a lot of serum left on your skin even after your done keeping the mask for 15 minutes... Do not wash your face .. just let it sit on your skin .. I would recommend keeping the serum overnight on your face. It definitely shows good results.

With this crazy lifestyle we all are leading - It certainly takes a toll on our body, skin and hair. I had the most wonderful locks when I was in school - Healthy and shiny hair. Over the time - I am facing the problem of hair fall, dry scalp and dull lifeless hair with no volume whatsoever.

I follow a strict routine when it comes to hair care. I always oil my hair before shampooing. I have been very regular and never skip oiling my hair. I have tried almond oil, coconut oil, Bottle Gourd Oil (YES!), Amla oil. Uptil Now I was using Oriflame's Wonder oil which was working fine for my hair.

What the Product Claims:

My Experience with the Product:

After I finished school I completely stopped oiling my hair. I continued this till I reached 12th grade and then the problem of thinning hair and hair fall started. That's when I got back to oiling my hair before shampooing to cure my hair problems.

Uptil Now I have used many oils - almond oil suits my hair the best. When I started using Herbis oil - I was curious to find out whether the oil lives upto the claims it promises.

Herbis Oil is 100% ayurvedic which is good and I was hoping it will show some effect on my hair.

The oil comes in a plastic bottle with white screw cap top and is dark green in color. The smell is very peculiar - reminds me of some ayurvedic, homemade oil that my mom had made ages ago.

I have used this oil for 2 weeks now and it has managed to make my hair smooth, shinier and healthy looking.

The oil does a good job for my dry scalp too. Although I don't see the voluminous effect in my hair yet - I guess continuous usage will show some results.

It does tackle my hairfall problem to an extent.

I love the effect the oil gives to my scalp and hair when you massage warm oil on your scalp and leave it overnight.

I would certainly recommend this oil for people with dry brittle hair as it extensively conditions your hair.

The texture of the oil is on a thicker side so I would recommend using a spare towel to avoid stains on your pillow when you sleep.

Definitely Luv it ! I recommend this oil to everyone who is battling from  dry hair and hairfall problems.

Lakme Perfect Radiance Multi Mineral Compact

Compact Powder was my first step into the vanity world - I remember my mother buying me my first very own makeup product which was a compact powder and I was thrilled. 

I have had combination skin tone since recently a few years and compact powder has become my best friend for quite sometime now. A good compact is a staple product for me and I guess a lot of combination to oily skin tone girls will agree to this.. 

I don't have any specific favorites when it comes to compacts - I keep switching from brand to brand as I like to experiment a lot. For quite sometime -  I was using Tip n Toes Mineral Compact which was reviewed before HERE. It suited me very well and I liked the concept of using this Wet or Dry compact. 

Eventually I got bored of it and wanted to try something new - Hence I got Lakme Perfect Radiance Multi Mineral Compact to see how it works....

First Look at the Packaging: 

I love the fact that Lakme has paid lots of attention when it comes to packaging of this product - A thin cute pink colored compact with a white top lid.   I had to buy it the moment I saw it - - Come On  - Any girl will fall for such Pink n White Silver Color Trick !!!! 

My Experience with the Product :

I have been using this compact 24*7 and I am not disappointed - For starters here's a thing - Lakme Products on my face .. sometime they don't suit me and they have given me bad breakouts before. So I was extra careful this time. 

First things First - The first time I used the sponge applicator which came with the compact - I was disappointed - The sponge is not quite upto the mark - Its very thin and its very difficult to work with this sponge on the face.

I tried using the sponge for two days but the sponge picked up too much of the product and deposited it on my face - blending was difficult with the sponge and in the end - the compact made me look like a ghost . 

Finally I dumped the sponge into the bin and switched to my loyal, soft kabuki brush - Which worked excellently on my face. 

I tried the shade "ROSE FAIR"  which is perfect for my skin tone. 

The compact works very well on my face - I love the results it gives me - The compact is successful in giving me that natural radiant porcelain matte effect on my face. 

The compact was successful in keeping my skin oil- free for few hours which gives this product an "A + " !!

The powder is of good quality as it adheres into your skin and disperses like a film to give you a natural look - Not too "MADE UP" 

The compact doesn't have any finely milled shimmer or glitter in it but somehow it manages to give you that healthy glow look.

Another thing I like about this product is that its absolutely lightweight and offers mild coverage to your blemishes and marks.  It is perfect as a translucent powder to set up your base makeup. 

I loved the fact that they incorporated SPF Factor into the product. It doesn't lighten your skintone inspite of everyday use but you can never expect that to happen anyway !!

All in all I love it !! Its inexpensive product - Perfect for college girls, working females, busy moms - EVERYONE !!! Perfect for everyday use.

My  Experience with the Product :

I am a nail paint fanatic !!! Nail paints are my way to jump start  my mood !! Its the only thing I knew when I knew nothing about makeup - My besties Nail Paints and Nail Art !! 

I have tried so many nail paints !!! And the characteristic of Lakme Nail Paints are that they are thick. They don't dry up quickly ! 

I remember using hair dryer to get my nail paint dry quickly. So when Lakme launched nail paints that dried up in 40 seconds ... I was super excited !! 

The Fast and Fabulous nail paints come in a rectangular bottle with a silver cap. The brush is short and stout with fat brush which perfectly colors your nails in 2-3 swipes. 

The consistency of these nail paints are also bit thick but they certainly dry up super quick !! 

The finish is glossy and the only complain I have with this range is that it starts chipping rather very quickly !!!

Get Ready to Face the Sun : Lakme Sun Expert Fairness + UV Lotion SPF 30 PA+

Earlier I had posted about Lakme announcing the launch of Sun Expert Range HERE. I have been very obsessed on using sunscreens since past few years. But somehow, Surprisingly over all these years I have never used a sunscreen from LAKME !! Yes m surprised as well  - I always had my cousins and brother get me sunscreen bottles from UK and "Soltan" was my favorite. 

So after this summer after emptying my 3 or 4 th Soltan sunscreen I was left with nothing till the Sun Expert Range Kit from Lakme arrived and the first thing I tested out from the kit which arrived was Lakmé Sun Expert Fairness + UV Lotion SPF 30 PA+. 

Let's see how this product fared -- 

Product:Lakmé Sun Expert Fairness + UV Lotion SPF 30 PA+. 

Price and Quantity: 179 INR for 50 Ml, 250 INR for 100ml.  

Claims:

•   Broad spectrum UV protection, keeping your skin looking fresh and oil-free.
•   PA+ shields the skin from the harmful UVA rays.
•   SPF 30 protects the skin from UVB rays.
•   Lightweight, non- oily sunscreen with mineral clay  for superior oil control and              vitamin rich ingredients such as cucumber and lemon grass extracts to protect the skin and correct past skin blemishes.
• Regular usage makes your skin many shades lighter.

 First Look at the Product: 

The lotion comes in a bright yellow tube like packaging which has a flip cap at the top. The flip cap shuts firmly hence it is a travel friendly product.  The lotion tends to accumulate after constant usage near the mouth which can be messy at times.

My Experience with the Product: 

There are two versions of this sunscreen - One meant for normal to dry skinned and other for oily skin. I tried using both. 

For normal to dry skin - 

The sunscreen meant for normal to dry skin is white in color and the texture of the cream is bit thicker. The white lotion has a pleasant lemon grass and bit floral scent which tends to linger on for a while. 

The thing with this lotion is that it leaves a whitish cast when you spread it onto your skin.. you have to be quick otherwise it becomes quite difficult to blend the cream into your skin.

After a quick thorough blending, the cream does leave a hint of whitish cast which disappears within few minutes as the cream is soaked into your skin. 

The lotion gives a subtle glow to your skin which is fine ... as for the claims of "fairness" is involved I don't see any difference yet.

The lotion moisturizes my skin quite well - I dont need a separate body moisturizer if I use this sunscreen. 

The SPF in this  lotion is perfect for me since I venture out in mornings when the heat is not that much. I would suggest SPF 50 or higher if you are to go out in the sun during afternoons. 

So far I have not experienced any tanning which is great.  

For Oily Skin - 

The lotion meant for oily skinned is very different from that meant for normal to dry skin. 

The cream meant for oily skinned is peach- ish orange in color and it is little light weight and runny in consistency compared to that for normal skin. 

I used this cream on my face - and I found that this cream does not leave a heavy duty whitish cast as the one for normal skinned one did. 

The cream is very easy to blend and is easily  soaked into your skin. 

The moment it sinks into your skin - it leaves a subtle glow to my skin - which is okay. It does not however work best in keeping your skin matte looking and oil free for hours. 

The scent of this lotion is different from that meant for normal skinned - It chiefly smells of lemongrass but that floral smell is missing. 

I had to stop using this cream on my face after a while as it broke me out.

I admit I don't pay attention to my feet at all - they are the most neglected part of my body - They bear the burnt of daily train travelling where "N" number of people stomp over my foot - Yups the trauma of travelling in locals during peak hours. 

Although I don't suffer from cracked heels - Yet ! but I do have very dry skin hence my feet and specially heels appear dry and cracky most of the times. My mom suffers from cracked heels - Big Time !! So after testing this product for a week on my feet, I donated this cream to my mom who regularly applies it every night. Lets see how it fared --

First Look At the Product:

The product comes in a  blue plastic tub like packaging with a screw cap lid. Inside is white colored cream which is neither runny nor too thick in consistency. 

 My Experience with the Product :

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the tub was the smell of the product - the cream chiefly smells of neem and clove .. M not a big fan of this smell but it is not that bothersome and doesnt tend to linger on for long which is fine for me. 

I have applied this cream regularly every night before going to bed. A coined size amount of cream is sufficient for both the feet. The cream spreads easily over the skin and gets soaked in within few minutes.

Still flaunting " Cherry Red" Shade from Lotus Herbals on my toes !!  :D

Regular use of this cream definitely worked on my feet - it moisturized them efficiently and also made my heels soft and smooth. 

I have used this cream after short pedicure sessions at home - the cream gives good results and keeps feet soft and supple throughout the day. 

My mom still uses this cream on daily basis - It has definitely showed results and has filled up her cracked heels. My feet are back to normal state now coz I have stopped applying this cream daily - Guess it's time to start again.

My Experience with the Products -

• Face Illuminizer  --

        
This product is my favorite - It comes as a finely milled powder in a screw cap jar. When I inspected the powder for the first time I thought - This is like any other mineral foundation. I remember using this powder on my friend on her engagement day and It worked amazingly !! The product works best as a setting powder. I set the liquid foundation with this powder which gave best results. The powder sets into the skin to give that natural glowy skin look - It is not "glittery" in the sense that the product adds a radiance and soft look to your skin Without adding glitter. The powder is very finely milled hence one has to be carefully while handling the product - I have lost quite a bit of the powder which flew off because of the wind.

 Bordeaux shade is deep maroon with red micro glitters in it. I thought - Here comes a shade which I will never be able to wear but I was proved wrong.  The lip glaze finishes off smooth and gave slight color on my lips with a glossy finish. The color really complements me and I also liked the staying power of the gloss - it lasted me for good three hours which is quite okay. It is not sticky as other lip glosses which I love and also has no odor or taste.

Love it or Chuck it ?

Definitely Love it !! Although availability is the issue .. These products are worth trying out once to experience that nude natural radiant look.
