Dree Hemingway for Vogue UK June 2011

This is such a gorgeous editorial I just had to share this with all of you! I am loving the photography and how the photographer cached the light as the sun was setting. Can I also say I want that house with the car in the dogs in the front? Gorgeous! Exactly my style as well. I want a big country house like that with a wrap around porch.

The style is amazingly fresh, chic and sexy. I absolutely love the first dress. Oh, how I wish I could wear low cut dresses like that (without my chest falling out haha). The sequin detailing is very glamorous! Any of these outfits would be perfect for lounging around the house, going out on a date or party. Wonderful inspiration!

What do you think of this editorial?

Always,

P.S. Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! :)

Fashion Around the World Series: South America Part 2

Argentina Fashion Week

Chile

Argentina

Argentina

Uruguay- Designer Ana Livni

Chile Fashion Week

Tango Dancers in Buenos Aires

Chile

Here is my second part of the South America fashion around the world series. I have featured Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. As with the rest of South America there are a lot of bright colors and patterns. Argentina is much like Brazil with sexy, chic fashion. I found Uruguay to be very edgy and unique. Chile stays true with their roots much like Peru.

What do you think of the fashion in the countries I have featured?

Always,

I havent had anything like this before - DELMONTE !

The ad is so catchy that it will leave you humming the song all day long. Yes I am talking about the new Delmonte Juices that have hit the Indian markets. Everyone from my family loves juices and you will always find two boxes of Tropicana juice in our refrigerator. This time however when we spotted Delmonte juices in Hypercity we decided to give them a try.
Perfect for summers and perfect for kind of therapy for glowing skin – Juice therapy.  Any fruit juice is chocked up with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.

Tempting isn’t it ?? WAIT A MINUTE. . !!!
I absolutely disliked the taste. . the juice looked nice and pulpy with bits of pineapple in it but when I tasted it ... I felt like I am having a slurry of canned pineapples. . . HO HUM!!  So much for Fresh fruit juices. . . Maybe the other flavor might be good. . . ? ? ? ?

Have you tried DELMONTE Before ? ? ?

PRODUCT: Himalaya Herbals Protein Conditioner
TYPE:  For Normal Hair
PRICE & QUANTITY: 70 Rupees for 100 ml

What the product claims?
Enriched with extracts of protein-rich herbs, our new conditioners nourishes your hair giving you the three essential benefits that your hair needs - strength, reduced hair fall and protection from everyday damage.
A gentle formulation that conditions and keeps your hair silky smooth, soft and tangle-free. Nourishes your hair with natural proteins giving it a healthy shine.

Key ingredients:
China Rose & Lotus: Effective natural hair and scalp conditioners.
Chickpea & Oat: Rich sources of natural proteins.

My take on the product:
ON THE SHAMPOO:
I am very much into the smell of this product. It is just right – herbal and mild and not over empowering. The good thing about this shampoo and conditioner is that the active ingredients are all herbal.
I like the fact that I can use this shampoo everyday – since its a mild gentle shampoo. It is perfect for summers when my hair turns greasy due to sweat, dust and pollution almost everyday.  It does the job of cleaning the hair all naturally.
It is good to see an Indian brand launching shampoo for oily hair – Kudos for the effort!
I have dry scalp so I use moisturising shampoo – but I will definitely use this for the summers so that I can shampoo my hair frequently.
Another nice thing about this product is that it is safe to use on artificially colored or permed hair. This shampoo will be great to wash your hair after you have them colored. I use henna to colour my hair and this shampoo is great to wash my hair right after I rinse the henna off.
The herbal ingredients do not compromise on the cleansing ability of the shampoo and it is successful in effectively removing the dirt and oil from my hair.

ON THE CONDITIONER:
A conditioner is a must for my hair after shampooing since it keeps my hair soft, manageable and tangle free.  This conditioner is successful in serving all the three purposes.
The one thing I noticed on the product was that it is a scalp conditioner. It says on the directions that you need to massage the conditioner onto your scalp and wet hair. I have not tried applying this conditioner on the scalp simply because I think the rule is NOT to apply conditioner on scalp. Let me know if you have applied this on your scalp. Does it make any difference?
Anyways, this conditioner is also gently formulated with active herbal ingredients –making it safe to use it frequently.
The conditioner is creamy thick and white in color. It also coats the hair tips well and after rinsing it off the water, the hair is soft and manageable and tangle free.
It also smells nice and like a typical herbal product. The fragrance lingers on for a moment.

Love it or chuck it? –
I would say love it ... will definitely buy it when I need a break from my other shampoo. It is also great for women who would like to go – ORGANIC!  :)

PLEASE NOTE :  This product was sent by the company for consideration.

Celebrity Fashion Weekly Edition

How to get this look for all under $100!

Dress: Planet Gold Dress, Sleeveless Striped Tank Maxi Dress for $22.99 at Macy's
Handbag: Brooke Tote for $58 at Shop Suey
Sandals: Port Jelly Sandal for $10 at Payless

Total outfit: $91!

I have always admired striped maxi dresses but too afraid to try them as I fear that they will make me look bigger than I am. Kim Kardashian looks stunning here. The maxi dress fits her perfectly. To add some color to this outfit wear that red lip or nails.
To take this into the evening, wear with stiletto heels and pile on the gold jewelry! Oh, and trade in the handbag for a sleek black clutch.

What do you think of Kim's outfit? I love it!

Always,

Garnier Skin Naturals - Sun Control Daily Moisturizer

Hello everyone!! Today I bring another Garnier product review – this time it is Garnier skin naturals – Sun control daily moisturizer with Mexoryl SX + vitamin E. I don’t remember when I picked this one up but I have this one for quite sometime now.  After almost finishing this product I think it’s about time I review it.

QUANTITY: 50 ml
PRICE: 155 rupees ( hell it was expensive!)

WHAT PRODUCT CLAIMS:
Its special formula blends a moisturizer with selected ingredients:
Formula with Mexoryl SX , a revolutionary patented molecule, to give protection from sun’s UV rays.
Vitamin E to help protect against free radicals and help delay the signs of ageing.
Glycerol and extracts of coriander to retain the skin’s moisture and prevent it from drying while nourishing.

FACTS ABOUT MEXORYL-SX: ( From Wikipedia)
Ecamsule (USAN, trade name Mexoryl SX, INCI terephthalylidene dicamphor sulfonic acid) is an organic compound which is added to many sunscreens to filter out UVA rays. It is a benzylidene camphor derivative, many of which are known for their excellent photostability.
Although there are a few different UV absorbers with the trade name Mexoryl, only two of them are widely used where approved. Mexoryl SX (water soluble) and Mexoryl XL (INCI Drometrizole trisiloxane, oil soluble). Together they show a synergistic effect in protection. The patents are held by L'Oréal. Sunscreens containing ecamsule are exclusive to L'Oréal and its brands.

BENEFITS OF CORIANDER:

Coriander has eleven vital components in the form of essential oils, Vitamin A, Vitamin C along with important minerals like iron and phosphorus. Coriander when mixed with pinch of turmeric powder, it serves as a powerful remedy against blackheads and pimples. The antioxidant and anti-fungal proprieties of coriander are ideal for treating skin dryness, eczema and other skin disorders.

MY- TAKE ON THE PRODUCT:

This cream comes in a small bottle with screw cap top. The cream is light orange in color and faintly smells somewhat like medicated cream. The smell is not overwhelming though – its fine. The consistency of the cream is also ok – not so runny which is good. I hate it when sunscreens precipitate at the mouth of the bottle.

I am scared of using Garnier products on my face so I was extra careful using this product. Most of the times I skipped using this cream for my face and applied it on my arms. Once in a while I did use this cream for my face but I took care that I don’t apply too much of this cream.  I found this cream to be quite OK. It is not that bad and not that good too.  It is good because it didn’t break me out whenever I used it on my face. The thing I didn’t like about it was it is greasy for a while when we apply it, it also takes a while for the cream to get absorbed into the skin. It does prevent tan so that’s a plus point there. Also glycerol prevents my skin from getting dry throughout the day which is also good. Another thing I dislike about this product is that after using this cream for days – the cream kinda gets precipitated at the mouth of the bottle which makes it messy. This cream is good for application on arms and legs – for face I will not recommend it because it makes my face oily after a while.  Also this cream has SPF – 15 only - which I guess will not prove to be too useful in hot humid weathers in Mumbai and other places.

PLUS POINT:
Plus point of introducing coriander extracts in skin care product.

GOOD POINTS:
Protects from UVA +UVB rays.
Dermatogically tested.
Helps prevent skin darkening and premature ageing.
Vitamin E –delays signs of ageing and protect against free radicals.
Glycerol and coriander extract retain skin’s moisture and provides nourishment.
Travel friendly, easy to carry around.

NOT SO GOOD POINTS:
It is expensive for the quantity of product we are getting.
The cream gets precipitated at the mouth of the bottle.
Low SPF factor (SPF 15).
Takes time to get absorbed into the skin.

Love it or chuck it ? :  I will definitely pass this one. I did not like the greasy feel.

Have you used this product yet ? Did you like it ?

Show Some Skin- Vogue June 2011

While browsing through this month's Vogue magazine this editorial caught my eye. I am loving all the swimwear and resort wear. Makes me want to go on vacation somewhere tropical pronto. Also, can I say that this model is gorgeous? Oh how nice it would be to have a body like that! (haha). My other favorites from this editorial are all the handbags. They would equally be good for the beach and every day errands.

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Trussardi 1911 Spring 2011 RTW Collection

A hot trend this summer is the LWD. Why not wear a white dress that has lace? I am loving the shape of the dress, very princess-y and would look great on any figure!

Can I have this whole outfit pronto? This maxi dress is stunning and the perfect dress for both day and evening.

This would equally be perfect for day or night. Loving the lace detailing.

I am loving the leopard print with crochet knitted top. I would never expect that these two patterns would go well together!

This is one sexy dress. Perfect for an evening out.

The LBD dress with the perfect amount of fringe. This is also quite sexy without being too revealing!

This would be a cute weekend outfit to the grocery store, shopping and even to dinner.

Need a dress for the resort your going to this summer? This is it! It has the perfect tropical print without being too "touristy". It would be gorgeous for a evening out by the beach.

Trussardi's collection is gorgeous, feminine and exotic with a little boho chic flare. I am loving all the lace and crochet detailing on the clothing. Everything is well styled and fitted well. Also most of the clothing is in just black and white. Which makes it still a little classy but also trendy.

What do you think of Trussardi's collection?

Always,
