Himalaya Herbals Neem Face pack : ZAP 'EM ACNE AWAY !

Women have always tried to enhance their beauty. Cosmetics and skincare were an integral part of women's life since Prehistoric times.

Face Packs are used not only to cleanse your skin but also to maintain its firmness.Roman women also used face packs using ingredients like crocodile dung ( Eww! -- Anyway-- who has guts to collect croc dung!!)

Enough of history !! Let's come to my current favourite face pack of the month - Himalaya Herbals Neem Face Pack !!  Don't doubt me but I have been loyal to my Fuller's earth for ages now - Its the only thing that works on my oily/combination, acne prone skin.

Apart from Fuller's Earth - This product is one of best things that has happened to me ... hehehehe... Here's the review of face pack --

Product: Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Pack.

Price and Quantity: 115 INR for 100 gms.

Action:
Clears skin and prevents outbreak and recurrence of pimples. Rejuvenates and firms up the skin. Imparts natural glow. Antibacterial purifying Neem Face Pack regulates excess oil secretion, cleans clogged pores and prevents recurrence of pimples. Improves skin texture. Neem, well known for its antibacterial properties, helps in controlling acne and pimples, and their recurrence. When combined with Turmeric, it effectively eliminates acne-causing bacteria. Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti) cools and soothes the skin.

Indications:
Oily and Pimple-prone skin.

Ingredients Include:
                Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba)
                Panka (Fuller's earth, Multani Mitti)
                Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)

Use Directions:
Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around eyes. Allow it to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove with wet sponge and wash the skin with cool water. Use once or twice a week.

My Take on the Product:

My dermatologist had advised me to use "Sandalwood powder" as a face pack everyday to dry up my sebum producing glands.

So apart from using Sandalwood powder, I apply this Face Pack twice a week.

This face pack comes in a handy tube like packaging with a green flip cap. The tube is to be squeezed to dispense the product.

The mask is thick and dark green in colour, with a strong herbal scent. While I'm okay with it, I suggest everyone to smell the product before you buy it.

I apply the face pack with a help of my face pack brush, spreading it on evenly. It makes me look like a green Alien Monster !!!.

I leave it on for about 20 minutes, and after it dries just wet it a little bit again to exfoliate before washing it thoroughly off.

The texture of the face pack is thick and rough with neem leaves in it hence it becomes easy to exfoliate your skin before completely removing the pack from your face.

So far the product has done excellent job of keeping my skin pimple free. It soothes the skin and helps to reduce the blemishes. It has a decent job of clearing your pores and help in oil control.

The best thing about this product is that it is cheap and easily available in local drugstores or hypermarkets. I also suggest using this product along with neem face wash and neem scrub. It works the best.

Please note: Product sent by the company's PR for consideration.

How many of you beauty's have tried this one ??? Did it work for you ?? Let me know !!

luv,
Rids

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturizer

Hi Gurls,

I do hope you all enjoyed Ganesh Chaturthi to the fullest - I know I did. Mumbai was all decked up and was in full - on festive spirits.

Anyways, today I will be talking about my experience using Liz Earle's Skin Repair Moisturizer. Liz Earle is UK's luxury skin care brand. I had reviewed their Cleanse & Hot Polish and Skin Tonic before.

I am not keen in using moisturizers - never have and never will. I sparsely use it because I am blessed with Oily skin and I tend to run away from them because they make my skin look like a frying pan after awhile. So when I used this moisturizer ---- this is what happened. . . . . . . .

Product: Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturizer
Quantity: 50 ml
Price: 18.25 Pounds

My Experience with the Product:

I like the packaging of the product. The cream comes in a sleek, travel friendly bottle. The downside is that the bottle is not transparent - You will not know when you ran out of the cream.
The cream is indeed light in texture and sinks into the skin easily.
The cream didn't break me out which was good.
Sadly, This cream was not successful in keeping my skin oil-free. My skin looked like a oily pan after a hour.
So I concluded that I might have applied a bit more of the cream since it was very light.
The next time I used the cream, I took a pea size of the product and simply patted my face with the cream.
The result was same - Oily skin after an hour.

Love it or chuck it?
I will give this one a pass. I do love their Cleanse&Hot polish and Skin Booster tonic more than this product.

Please note: The product was sent by the company's PR for consideration.

All About Packs !

Your daily Cleansing-Toning-Moisturizing routine will cleanse the outer layers of your skin. Adding a face pack once a week will take your cleansing deeper.

What does a face pack do? A face pack deep cleanses your skin by penetrating deep into the pores to remove impurities, dead skin cells and excess oils. It keeps skin hydrated by restoring its water content, leaving it soft and supple.
Face packs also brighten skin by lightening spots, blemishes and pigmentation.

How to choose a face pack?
Firstly, you must know your skin type in order to choose the right face pack.
Secondly, look for natural ingredients like saffron, neem, papaya, apple, aloe vera in your packs as these are gentler on the skin.

If you have normal skin
You are lucky! However, even normal skin needs a skincare regime.
We recommend: Himalaya Fairness Face Pack. An easy-to-apply pack with Saffron, Turmeric and Aloe Vera. Saffron and Turmeric improve skin tone and lighten spots. Aloe Vera is well-known to hydrate skin.

 If you have oily skin
You have overactive oil glands! The oil glands produce more sebum, giving the skin a greasy shine.
We recommend: Himalaya Clarifying Mud Pack. Enriched with Fuller's Earth and Walnut, the face pack deep cleanses skin by absorbing excess oils and removing impurities.

If you have dry skin

Your skin produces less sebum. As a result, the skin may flake and look lackluster.
We recommend: Himalaya Refreshing Fruit Pack. A fruity punch to get rid of dull and patchy skin. It has Apple, a rich source of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), for nourishing skin. Fig and Cucumber for relieving dryness. Papaya helps in lightening blemishes.

If you have pimple-prone skin
You need to take care of your skin without aggravating the condition.
We recommend: Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Pack. An instant pick-me-up for pimple-prone skin. It has Neem, a time-tested herb known for its antibacterial properties, that keeps skin troubles at bay. Turmeric, with its antiseptic properties, improves complexion and fights blemishes.

Remember to remove the pack off your face gently. Wash with lukewarm water and apply an ice pack to close the pores.
